Testimonials

“Keep doing what you’re doing. Please. Never give up!”

— A PATIENT

We will never give up.

We are humbled by the people we serve and the lives we help to restore. By way of our annual recovery celebration, former patients’ stories, and everyday successes both big and small, we’re reminded of our mission, motivated by hope, and inspired by the resilience of our patients.

PHOENIX PROGRAM

“They gave me stability and a sense of hope, and a path to follow... to stay clean.”

- SCOTT

“The Phoenix Program saved my life and for that, I am eternally grateful. Please find a way to draw inspiration from my situation. Treatment works! The Phoenix Program brings good into this world for those who cannot find it themselves. Please keep doing what you’re doing and never give up.”

DEMETER

“ I grew up thinking that addiction was a sign of weakness. This was my first time in treatment and I learned a lot about myself and my addiction here. Now I understand that it is not a weakness.”

- JACKIE

“The hope and happiness for life started with treatment and taught me on how to live again as a Mother.”

“National Capital Treatment & Recovery showed me how to give back to those who are struggling with similar difficulties”

- KAREN

ARC

“I recently completed and graduated from the Arlington Recovery Center (ARC). I deal with a dual diagnosis of addiction and mental health issues. ARC staff were very supportive, understanding, caring, and non-judgmental. I now see and live with hope and a sense of purpose. ARC staff did what no one else was able to achieve, and as a result saved me and afforded me the opportunity to live a healthy, productive and sober life.”

PATIENT ASSISTANCE FUND/YOUNG ADULT TREATMENT FUND

The Patient Assistance Fund and The Young Adult Treatment Fund have helped many women at Demeter House who otherwise may not have been able to afford or complete treatment. We know that finishing residential treatment and stepping down to further treatment provides the best outcomes for our patients. Coming to treatment and hearing that your insurance may not cover your treatment either at all or in its entirety can be very difficult, then add on top of that the difficulty of early recovery. The Patient Assistance and Young Adult Fund can be lifeboats for our patients ensuring that they will not be discharged from the program and can receive the help they want and need. Demeter House patients are grateful for the donations as they help us continue to help others, especially those facing economic  difficulty. Addiction does not discriminate. Our ability to provide treatment for those in need is a true gift.

- MOLLIE, STAFF

“You have showed me a new way to live and how to love myself most of all. I plan to use all the tools I’ve received while being here and use them every day. I was once lost but now I am found. At one time it was dark but I see the light thanks to National Capital Treatment & Recovery.”
